What to expect
Most phone repairs are able to be performed quickly, most times while you wait. There are however instances where the repair will take longer, sometimes days. To properly set your expectations, it is important to note that if you just need a cracked screen or weak battery replaced, it will be done very quickly. But if you have liquid damage, malware or something more serious, you can expect to drop off the device as opposed to waiting for it.
the phone repair process
At Bel Air Computer Guy, we have expert techs with more than a decade of experience repairing phones. We’ve worked on everything from iPhone 3 to the latest Galaxy flip models. We will quickly assess the trouble and provide you with a plan of action and a quote to go with it. We have overnight access to all phone parts, so in the event we don’t have parts in stock, you can return the following day for the repair. Your device will be function tested and be presented for your approval prior to closing the ticket and taking payment.
Most phone repairs involve screen or battery replacement. However, there are times when a device is severely damaged and contains critical and/or irreplaceable data. These scenarios are referred to as “Data Recovery”. Your phone has liquid damage, or it was run over by a car, or a tank, or it was dropped out of a hot air balloon and landed in the middle of an artillery testing field during mortar practice, or… well, you get the idea. When we’re hired to recover data after one of these events, we’re repairing the device just enough to get the data off and we’re stopping there. It’s important to note that the success of data recovery from a badly damaged mobile phone can vary depending on the severity of the damage and the expertise of the data recovery technician. In some cases, if the damage is too severe or if the data is encrypted or protected by strong security measures, data recovery may not be possible.
